New Mastering Studio Build Progress

New Mastering and Mixing Facility Opening in November

Meanwhile Steam Mastering is still making a lot of noise

These are exciting times.

Getting established in Malaysia has taken quite a bit of effort.. While that has resulted in not much volume on the Steam Mastering social media and our website activity, it’s definitely been very active over here.

Anyone who knows South East Asia, knows there is a lot of bureaucracy to deal with – but once it’s done, the work gets moving quickly.

We’ve been lucky to connect with great professionals. With local company CCT Electric and Aircon wiring up the place.
The first stage of walls being put up by Dextro Telos (who will also do the treating and tuning of the room – Yes that cavity in the left will be dealt with properly. We weren’t allowed to close it off permanently as that is access to service pipes.

The mastering console desk that is in the pictures is custom made. Ikmal from The Woodsmith Co has produced a piece of art.

Meanwhile, artists are still coming through and we’ve had a number of singles EP’s and even an album this year.

A small experiment with a couple of very nice 500 series modules has cemented a decision to continue adding to the analog signal chain, but slowly over time to ensure that each unit is learned properly and used where appropriate to achieve the sound that the artist is looking for. (I’ll post more about this journey in the future)

In the meantime – enjoy some photos of the studio in development.

Why Malaysia

I often get asked, why I moved operations to Malaysia.

I could say food or weather as those are things I seriously enjoy here.

It’s really the people –

People here are super friendly and supportive.

I’m so grateful for the people here. Everyone who has been involved in this project has treated it like their own, put in serious effort and been proud of the results.

If you choose to visit while I’m mastering or mixing your work, then you’ll understand

Contact me today to talk about your next project and book yourself a holiday while you are at it ..

Cheers
Allan
